HTML Intro 4 Kids is a 2-day computer coding workshop for children aged 8+ where attendees will build their first public-facing website, accessible over the internet.
Kids aged 8+ of all abilities are welcome, from beginners (who have never written a line of code) all the way through to kids who have prior coding experience.
This is an all-inclusive workshop, with Spark4Kids providing everything from the software and hardware that the children will use, to lunch and healthy snacks – just drop your child off in the morning, and pick them up at the end of the fun-filled, workshop day.
On this workshop, the children will learn the basics of web development, including web page structure, linking and HTML. They will build a dedication page on a topic of their own choosing, continually deploying their websites to the internet.
Recent examples of such dedication websites include topics such as types of precious stone, books/reading, Minecraft, cookery, travel, science, nature and outdoors, computers, music, photography, games, sports cars, and football. As part of the workshop, there will be a section dedicated to teaching the children about basic internet safety.
On completion of the workshop, each child’s dedication page will have a unique web address where family and friends will be able to view the website the child created.
The workshop is designed to keep the kids engaged throughout the day. There will be sufficient breaks to ensure that the children spend some time away from the computer and weather permitting, there will also be breaks outdoors.
The focus is on creating a fun and supportive environment in which children learn about various aspects of technology and coding.
